— Dad, why does Niz always go on suborbital vacations, and why does his dad have three cars, and why does his mom take him to school in a Vortex?

— It’s complicated, Gix. Some people just have more.

— Because the rich folks who came before bought up all the CO2 credits. And they still had money left for cars, for Vortexes, and for a whole bunch of other stuff. Meanwhile, they count our breaths.

— That’s not fair, though.
